Orienteering is not actually a new sport. Its history goes back to the 19th century. Orienteering, which emerged as a part of military training in Sweden in the 1800s, has maintained its basic principles in general in the intervening years. Today, it has turned into a sport that people can do as a hobby rather than military training.
