Determine When Stress Starts
Stress is not as easy to notice as it seems at first glance. Often times, after reaching a high level, we find that we are under stress. Stress manifests itself in physical and emotional ways. It can increase in intensity quickly or stay at a steady level behind the scenes. Physical symptoms of stress are muscle tension, especially in the jaw, neck, or shoulders. Emotionally, there is a sensation of irritation mixed with pain. These emotions tell us that it’s time to put an end to this stress.
Use Breathing Techniques
Breathing is something we always do, so it’s a tool we always have at hand for stress management. It is the perfect way to bring some peace into your life. Slow, rhythmic breathing has been proven to activate the vagus nerve. This nerve responds to stress. Try to focus on filling your lungs with air. Then breathe slowly. Two or three minutes after doing this, your stress will go down.
Distract Your Attention
The more attention you pay to a source of restlessness, the more stress you will experience. That’s why it’s so important to try to distract yourself. Look at something around you. Try to describe the thing in your head with as much detail as possible.
Then repeat the same exercise with two other objects. These exercises make you more comfortable.
Do a Little Exercise With Your Hands
It has been proven that the movement you make by clenching and opening both hands into a fist helps to reduce stress. It is an aggressive move and helps relieve tension.
Thanks to these little advice we give you, this stressful world we live in will now become more bearable. May your life be stress free and healthy.
